ok--i may be a little brainwashed by repeated exposure to the lego movie--but everything is cool when you're part of a team!  especially a team that includes the coolest and fly-est metro-man about town, calidonna; the father of all time since the dawn of race time in our town, dave eggler; the volunteering is a piece-o-cake blakes (amy, mike, and superstar riley); my pace bunny joshee boy cone (who's ears were almost stolen by a pair of pigtails named kristina fedkina), my trusty finish line wrangler "mob scene dean", and his married to the mob scene girl cheryl (whose photo evidence was critical in piecing together some blank tags and missing chads); the helping hands of the fabulous sara noss--who was fresh off showing bwana who's the boss in the 10k; my most favoritest mennonite smucker, who chose helping out with mass mayhem over running another hundred miles yesterday; and at the end of the line with the coolest job of all, my abominable ice-man hubby handing out firecracker popsicles (through the bars of his high security popsicle pen).

anyway, my other revelation from yesterday is that i don't actually have to possess situational awareness to put on a great race.  i just need to surround myself with people who do!  and then babble nonsensically into the mike while everyone else performs amazing feats of organizational awesomeness!
