Adult Volunteers Needed for the Nittany Track and Field Youth Club
Nittany Track and Field (NTF) youth track club can use more volunteers for kids track practice. Normally this involves helping the main coaches to look after groups of kids during a workout. It does not require a special coaching experience, but can help you to develop one.

Weekend Group RunsIn the summer of 2003, the NVRC started announcing regular Saturday morning runs, and they have been working out well. The group run calendar now generally has one or more runs on both days of any given weeknd. And there will often be a group run on non-weekend holidays. We do rely on having someone act as the leader for each run. This just involves choosing a meeting place and some sort of plan for the run -- typically, something like "meet at Rec Hall at 8.30 a.m. to cover 6-10 miles at a relaxed pace" -- and spreading the word via the website and the NVRC Yahoo group.
You don't need any special qualifications to do this! Basically you are promising to show up and lead the way so no one gets lost or has to run alone. We usually get between 4-12 people on the weekend runs.
