History:
The Run for CVIM Challenge team, formerly known as Marathoners for Medicine, started in 2003 when John Domico decided to raise funds for CVIM as part of his running of the Boston Marathon. Over the past 20 years the team has raised over $920,000.00 for CVIM, a local non-profit community organization that provides free medical and dental care to uninsured individuals living or working in Centre County.
Frequently Asked Questions:
I would love to join the team, what do I do next?
Sign up to come to the Kick-off Dinner to learn more. If you can't make the dinner, but still want to join the team, email Tara at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
After you sign up to join the team, you can pick a race (choose our signature race, the Nittany Valley Half-Marathon, or any other running event - any distance, anywhere), set up your pages and goal, then encourage your friends and family to donate through your page to CVIM!
What if I don't like to ask for money/fundraise?
Past participants have found that family and friends are more than happy to donate to CVIM. The fundraising pages make it easy to send out emails and social media is a great way to get the word out. To increase views, we encourage you to tag @centrevolunteersinmedicine on social media. Also, CVIM will post your page/race/results on their social media pages and in emails to help drive additional donations.
Do I need to raise a certain amount of money to be on the team?
No, there is no minimum donation to be on the team. CVIM appreciates every donated dollar, which provides $3 of care.
Hope to see you on the 7th!
