Region Youth Cross Country Runs
We went from summerlike weather for the first to Youth Cross-Country
races to a very autumnal morning for the last meet of the season.
It was cool and rainy, but we still had a good turnout of
die-hards and even a few first-timers. In the first race, the
experienced Natasha Fedkin toured the course at an even pace,
finishing in agreat time, 9:23. First-timer Jared Hurd started hard on
her heals, but quickly learned the value of pacing, finishing in 14:14.
Tessa Kisenwether was hurting at the end of her race, but still made
the finish in a respectable time. Young Danae Hurd ran
enthusiastically for 10 minutes with her Dad.
In the 3K race, Chloe "The Pro" Schmidt led from start to finish,
completing the course in 12:27. The weather was pretty
drab, so we let 13 year old Peter Lin run the 3K with the
younger kids.
Peter ran hard behind Chloe, finishing in 12:45. Nikita Fedkin was the
second 11-12 year old. First in the 9-10 age group was Chase Davis in
14:20, followed by Seamus Wagner in 15:09. We look forward to
seeing all these kids again next year!
