Region Youth Cross Country Runs
The first Youth Cross Country races of the season were held at the
State College Area High School
Cross Country Course on Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend. It was
mild and sunny, a preview of
the beautiful weekend to come. Nearly 40 kids showed up to run the
races. Due to construction and
reseeding on the athletic fields, parts of the familiar course had to
be shifted around, which caused a
little confusion in the first race. Many of the familar faces from
previous years were one year older, but
still showed the same determination. The kids all had fun, with
most looking like they're determined to
do a little better at the next meet in two weeks.
