Description:  The Knights of Columbus 5K Race starts on Stratford Dr. about 200 ft downhill from the Knights Hall, which is at 850 Stratford near the corner of Blue Course Drive. Proceed uphill to Blue Course. Make a right on Blue Course and continue two blocks to Bayberry. Make a right on Bayberry and then an immediate left on Grace St. A block later, make a right on Crabapple. Continue on Crabapple to Hedgerow. This corner marks 1 mile. At Hedgerow, make a right. Proceed to the "T" at Bayberry and make a left. One block later, at Saxton, go right. This section begins the biggest uphill portion. Continue all the way until Saxton loops back to Bayberry. Make a left on Bayberry and continue back to Blue Course. Just before the corner is the second mile mark. Go left on Blue Course and proceed 1 block to Southgate. Go left there. You have just completed the longest uphill part. Take the free downhill ride on Southgate all the way to Waupelani Dr. Go right, and run on the sidewalk there for one very short block to Stratford. Make a right and go all the way up the finishing hill. The race finishes just past the second driveway onto the Knights' property.
Remarks: The Knights of Columbus 5K was a very popular race in the late 80s and early 90s, drawing 200-300 runners to a gently rolling course through a quiet residential neighborhood. It was held on the afternoon of the Sunday closest to Columbus Day (October 12). The race was revived for the year 2000.

The topo map below relies on an older survey of State College. Some features, such as the recent extension of Blue Course Drive and some newer neighborhoods are absent.
