The purpose of the Nittany Valley Running Club is to establish a sound, continuing program of youth and adult fitness, to promote development and competition for all age groups, and to conscientiously prepare athletes for competition.

The Nittany Valley Running Club's Bellefonte group, the Bellefonte Road Raiders is upon its 2nd. year! The group's first activity began on Saturday, March 10, 2007. It's a small group, but continues to grow every year with new faces. Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to the group runs. The group generally meets at the Bellefonte Middle School parking lot. Routes are chosen based on how far the assembled runners want to go, and there is usually an option to run shorter or longer.
The Bellefonte Road Raiders group gives runners the opportunity to meet other runners, explore new routes, and experience the motivation and support of a running group. During the winter months the group meets weekly on Saturday mornings at 8:30 AM at the Bellefonte Middle School, unless otherwise noted. Here's a flyer with some information and inspiration. The Bellefonte Road Raiders group & the State College Wahoo group also meet for track workouts on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. at Rec Hall and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at IM Building on the PSU campus in State College.
The Bellefonte Road Raiders would like to announce the birth of Jonathan Stephen Gasper, born May 27, 2010, son of Kim & Steve Gasper. Jonathan decided that he just couldn't wait until June to meet mom & dad :) Mother and son are doing well. Congratulations to the Gasper family!

The Bellefonte Road Raiders will being going on a field trip this Saturday, June 4th. The group will be heading to the Howard Dam. There will be a carpool from the Bellefonte Middle School, so plan to meet us there at 7:45 a.m. Or if you choose to just meet the group there, we should arrive there no later than 8:15 a.m. Here is some details about our run: Half trails and half meadows. Wear older socks and shoes if possible since there will be dew. We start and end at the eastern corner of the swimming area where the butterfly trail starts so park there. We leave no one behind.
