Bellefonte Road Raiders |

The Nittany Valley Running Club's Bellefonte group, the Bellefonte Road Raiders, is almost a year old! The group's first activity was a group run on Saturday, March 10, 2007. It's a small, but growing group. Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to the group runs. The group generally meets at the Bellefonte Middle School parking lot. Routes are chosen based on how far the assembled runners want to go, and there is usually an option to run shorter or longer.
The new group gives runners the opportunity to meet other runners, explore new routes, and experience the motivation and support of a running group. During the winter months the group is meeting weekly on Saturday mornings at 8:30 AM at the Bellefonte Middle School, unless otherwise noted. Here's a flyer with some information and inspiration. We're also meeting for a track workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 at Rec Hall on the PSU campus in State College. |

We had a great turnout for last night's Christmas light run. Our runners were Santa Kim Gasper, Elf Tara Murray, Head Reindeer Blackie, Elf Christine Rice, Elf Bob Rice, Elf Erin Moore, Elf Brian Hayman and Elf Denise Weaver.
Head Reindeer Blackie led Santa and all of his elves wearing their jingle bells on a nice 3 1/2 - 4 mile run around a few of the back streets of Bellefonte. Santa is proud of his little elves for doing such a SUPER job! We saw a some pretty Christmas lights, but there will be more to view in the upcoming weeks before Christmas.
We are sad to say that two elves lost their jingle bells along the way, but don't fret Santa will make sure that they get new jingle bells for the next Christmas run  |

December 6 - Easy 6 Miler The Bellefonte Road Raiders will be meeting around 8:30 am weather permitting at the Bellefonte Middle School to run at a easy pace a 6 miler out to Jacksonville Rd. and loop around Lyonstown Rd. then back to the middle school. Everyone of all abilities are invited to come join us. |
