The 2016 Indoor Mile Series was another success. This year, a heat for Ability Athletes and Wounded Warriors was added with three participants. A tota of 74 runners came to at least one Indoor Mile, and 45 ran at least two races and were hence eligible for season scoring. Noemie Noullet came to the series twice, won twice, and ran away with the women's crown with a combined time from her two races of 10:27.21. Rita Concannon's two best races added up to 11:12.47, and Jo Ohm took third in 11:21.88. One Masters woman, Meira Minard, the current Masters Series record holder, ran two races for a combined time of 11:38.02.

Will Appman, the Mile Series combined time record holder (8:36.18 in 2013) came back to win the men's crown this year in a combined time of 8:47.67. It was very close for second and third, with Matthew Beyerle (9:00.70) edging Doug Jordan (9:00.82). Bob Chandler just kept getting better every week to take the men's Masters title in a combine time of 9:38.02. Steve Williams was second in 9:55.61, and Art Remillard was third in 10:04.80.
