Hershey Youth Track & Field

Each year,  Centre Region Parks and Recreation offers youths an opportunity to participate in the Hershey National Track & Field Youth Program: "More than a track meet."

This program emphasizes participation, friendship, and sportsmanship. It is designed to introduce local children between the ages of 9-14 to physical fitness through basic track and field events, such as running, jumping, and throwing.

Watch the Centre Daily Times for announcements.  This is a free event.

2005 Local Qualifier:

The date of the local qualifier has not yet been announced, but it has generally been the Saturday after Mother's Day and has been held at the State High track.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE RULES

The only restriction for participation is age. A participant’s age is as of December 31, 2005.
A participant must compete in his/her age group and sex division.

9 & 10 Year Olds
Born in 1994-1995
11 & 12 Year Olds
Born in 1992-1993
13 & 14 Year Olds
Born in 1990-1991

Participants may not wear shoes designated for spikes. In field events, any shoes designed for turf sports are not allowed.

Participants may not compete in their bare feet, slippers or socks.

Starting blocks are not permitted.
