The Wahoo Beginners Running Group
The Nittany
Valley Running Club has been holding Saturday
morning group runs since
the
middle of July 2003. These runs, while open to everyone, are intended
for people with a bit of running experience. The runs are long (6-14
miles) and at a pace that would be difficult for beginners to keep up
for 1 mile, let alone 10.
The NVRC wants to encourage beginners to start running, stick with
it,
set some goals, and to have fun all the while. The Club has started a
new running group for beginning runners. Jerry Steffy is leading the
group. Runners have been meeting at various locations (see below for
locale) every Tuesday evening for a fun and challenging workout since
late Spring of 2006. The runs have been for all comers and all
abilities. Somehow, the group started calling themselves the Wahoo
Group. Starting in the late Summer, the Wahhoo Group has been meeting
on Saturday mornings as well. If you've always wanted to start a
jogging program
with a little direction, now is your chance. All you've got to do is
show up! If you have any questions about the runs, or if you'd like to
help Jerry with the runs, contact him at run2k1@juno.com.

The NVRC Wahoo
group is similar to the NVRC Discussion group,
the general group for
the Nittany Valley Running Club. Both are Yahoo! Discussion Groups. But
the NVRC Wahoo group is for us beginners. Go to http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/NVRCwahoo/ and sign up!
