ON CAMPUS: The Nittany Lion Inn is a lovely facility, with restaurants, but probably on the pricier side.  200 W. Park Avenue, 865-8550.

EAST OF CAMPUS: The Hampton Inn is more economical than the Nittany Lion Inn. It has a restaurant, and is a few blocks east of campus and downtown.  It’s not too far from the stadium and the Half-Marathon start.  Lots of visiting sports teams stay there. 1101 E. College Ave, 231-1590.

EAST OF CAMPUS: The Hilton Garden Inn is just a bit farther down East College and on the same side of the road as the Hampton Inn. 1221 E. College Ave, 272-1221.

DOWNTOWN and reasonable in price is the Days Inn, 240 S. Pugh St, 238-8454.  Restaurant, 1 ½ blocks south of campus

DOWNTOWN and upscale is The Atherton Hotel, one block from campus on the west end, 125 S. Atherton St, 231-2100.

ONE BLOCK SOUTH OF CAMPUS, near The Atherton: Imperial Motor Inn, 118 S. Atherton, 237-7686.

TWO BLOCKS NORTH OF CAMPUS, Rodeway Inn, 1040 N.  Atherton, 238-6783.

FIVE BLOCKS NORTH OF CAMPUS, The Stevens Motel, “homey,” 1275 N. Atherton, 238-2438.

FIVE BLOCKS NORTH OF CAMPUS, Motel 6, 1274 N. Atherton, 234-1600.

State College also has a Ramada Inn, Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Suites that can be reserved through their national 800 numbers.
